Assisting Catch22 secure a 3-year treatment service contract

Client: Catch22
In July 2008 Innovation With Substance provided substance misuse consultancy services to Catch22, a national charity working with young people. Helping successfully secure a three year contract to deliver county wide drug treatment services for young people.
Working alongside Richard Mayhew, South East Regional Director and a team of four colleagues, Innovation With Substance provided expertise in outcome based service design, service specification and service user involvement.
IWS assisted in the design of an innovative service delivery model guided by a clear focus on young people achieving positive outcomes. Academic research was also drawn upon to help identify and integrate components of successful services into the model, most notably the importance of the relationship between client and keyworker.
IWS Director Matt Hayman believes that rising to the challenge of collaborating with a team of five across multiple locations and to tight deadlines typifies how IWS deliver:
"As an agile organisation we were able to be responsive and act quickly, timescales meant we needed to assess requirements and deliver the project to the highest standard within a three week window. The use of an online project management tool enabled us to collaborate 24/7 over multiple locations and was central to the success of this project."
Drug education resource pack and communications strategy
Client: Southampton Healthy Schools
www.southamptonhealthyschools.org.uk
We're currently delivering an exciting drug education project for Southampton Healthy Schools Team working with teachers to devise a drug education resource pack full of examples of what works, direct from the people who know how to teach the subject best - local teachers.
The project will last a year with significant input from teachers at every stage as well as high quality evaluation.
The first phase began in July 2008 and centres on bringing a core group of teachers from across the city together, from here IWS will lead on collecting together as many good ideas as possible, with teachers testing out the ideas as they go.
From here the classroom activities will then be complied into a pack that the development group think would be best for teachers, training will also be offered and once complete the pack will be distributed free of charge across the city.
